Ever since I (Eva Demandt) started my professional career in 1997, I have been fascinated with people, our similarities and differences, and what makes us motivated, productive and engaged at work. In 2000, I decided to back up my fascination and experience with theory by combining a BSc. in Business Adm. and Economics with a MSc. in Human Resource Management.
I focussed my studies on how to generate value in the new economy and how to study change. Being fascinated with people in the workplace, the new economy was to me the thing. In the new economy, the human being is the very root and source of value creation and companies can no longer separate people from their value adding activities and ability to generate revenue growth. Who you get on-board, who you have on-board and how you treat and lead people at work matters!
With this insight, I went into managing consulting and executive search and learned how to build teams and to select the best person for the job, business challenges and company environment (culture, values and management style). Through interviewing, performance appraisals and personality assessments, I ensured that companies hired the right people for the right reasons to execute business strategy and reach business objectives. In this role, I also provided advise on how to get the greatest performance from people.
I worked primarily with hard-to-find (specialised) profiles as well as profiles with a direct impact on either business results and/or people.
As Senior Consultant and Project Manager, I lead, coached and developed colleagues to perform their best and complete the projects on time without compromising on the quality. As manager I quickly realised that I could enhance people’s performance and motivation by investing time in each individual, mind-setting and team collaboration.
I also learned first-hand, the business challenges to management and the time and resources needed to find and develop talented people.
In establishing Redwood Advising, I wish to leverage my unique background and experience in executive search, the new economy, people performance and executing business strategy to help managers and HR professionals to hire for the best cultural fit and greatest performance. By doing so, I work for that people and companies can grow and develop in a sustainable way.
